ORACLE Corp, the world's biggest enterprise software vendor, plans to increase investment in China, including expanding its research and development unit in Shanghai, Chief Executive Mark Hurd said yesterday.

Since Oracle's entry into China, the United States-based firm has attracted more than 25,000 enterprise clients and established research centers in Shanghai, Beijing, Suzhou and Shenzhen.

In Shanghai, Oracle will set up a new research facility besides its local research center, focusing on cloud computing, big data and business intelligence, which help clients simplify the IT process, Hurd said at the ongoing Oracle OpenWorld Shanghai.

Meanwhile, Oracle also announced plans to collaborate with Shenyang-based Neusoft Corp on smart city, intelligent education and medical IT services.

Over 18,000 people are expected to attend the Oracle OpenWorld, which ends on Thursday.
