MORE German companies in China are positive about their business and nearly half plan to raise their investment despite weakening growth in the world's second-largest economy, a survey showed yesterday.

Around 47 percent of the companies in China said they are either positive or significantly positive about the business outlook for the remainder of this year, according to the Business Confidence Survey done by the German Chamber of Commerce in China and Staufen AG. The rate was 30.2 percent a year earlier.

The optimism propelled nearly 80 percent of the respondents to expect their business targets for this year to be met and 54 percent saw a rise in profit in 2013.

Only 16 percent of the companies saw lower profit.

The survey revealed that about every second company planned to increase their investments in China.
