CORPORATE Visa Program, a US visa service initiated by the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai in 2004, has processed 100,000 US visas, AmCham Shanghai said today.

The program provides US visa services to employees, family members, clients of AmCham member companies, allowing them to file US visa applications at the AmCham Shanghai office.

Services offered include pre-screening and submission of application materials, scheduling interviews with the US consulate, tracking application status, and consulting services should an application be rejected. The program boasts a success rate of 99 percent.

As trade between the US and China increases, AmCham Shanghai has seen a ten-fold increase in US visa applications. Last year 15,545 visas were obtained through the program, compared with 1,410 in 2004 when the program started.

Multinational companies with substantial travel needs are the primary users of the program. The AmCham Shanghai expanded the program last month to small- and medium-sized enterprises, including educational institutions and non-US companies.
