PERU rolled out a number of investment opportunities for China this morning, with its President Ollanta Humala attending a road show in Shanghai and calling for closer business relations with China.
The South American country is looking for investment in a vast development program that includes the construction of airports, railways, roads, metro, harbors, schools, a gas pipeline, housing and even an aquarium.
"Asia and Latin America are economically active in a world of slow growth," Humala told an audience of local companies and investors.
"Peru welcomes Chinese investment and expects the realization of an all-around strategic partnership with China."
Shanghai was the last stop of Humala's trip to China, during which he attended the Boao Forum in southern Hainan Province and met with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
China became Peru's biggest business partner in 2011, Humala said.
He also invited Chinese capital in Peruvian mining and energy industries.
